We are a family business founded over seven years ago in Annapolis Maryland. After working as a school nurse for years and seeing countless cases of head lice, my sister MJ and her business partner Nancy realized that there had to be a better way to help families. Fast forward a few years and thousands of success stories later- it became clear that Lice Happens’ soothing kid-friendly approach and proven methods were needed elsewhere.

With this in mind, my wife Audrey and I decided to join Lice Happens and participate by servicing Northern and Central NJ, from Bergen to Monmouth Counties. We’ve lived in Maplewood NJ since 1990 and having enjoyed successful careers in the service industry and the raising of our three sons Peter, Kevin and Jack we were ready for something new. We’re happy to say that Lice Happens happened to us! We have thoroughly enjoyed helping countless families survive the relentless scourge of head lice and feel privileged to do so.

Helping a family deal with a lice situation is more than just removal.  When I go to a home, the family is usually stressed and sometimes embarrassed.  Besides treating the problem, I educate families, provide comfort and debunk common myths.  By the time I leave they’re feeling at ease, in control, armed with facts and know-how.  And because it takes time and persistence to comb out every last nit, I get to know the family and play some old favorites like 20 questions and I SPY.  I’ve even been known to help with homework.  I find it very rewarding to see a family be restored to sanity
